Kristin & Devery | 2018 Lethbridge Wedding by Shannon Bos

Last Fall on the prettiest day ever, we got together with Kristin & Devery for some engagement photos. It was overcast when we started, which was totally fine & we knew there was a chance of rain but we decided to go ahead with our session, and, I'm so glad we did. We had plenty of time to get all the shots we needed. We were just taking some romantic cloudy shots by the river & then it poured!! We all ran back to our cars after the last shot.

We are pretty damn excited about this weekend. Kristin and Devery are a really sweet couple & their wedding will be gorgeous. We are happy to get to spend the day with these two, and to meet all their family & friends. Can't wait guys! Congrats!!!

The Gouw Family by Shannon Bos

I actually get asked to shoot in fields, quite often. But a pumpkin patch was a first. AND... I was a little nervous. How do you pose a big group in a patch of pumpkins. Well, I had nothing to worry about because this family came prepared! Isn't the old truck cool?!

Large groups can be difficult, but the Gouw family were amazing!

Thanks you guys. I really enjoyed our evening together!

Crawford Dental | Staff Portraits by Shannon Bos

This is the second opportunity we've had to photograph Crawford Dental. This is such an amazing group of professionals. I can't wait to go into the office and see this beauty hanging on the wall!

Thanks guys!

Woodland Grad Session | Rose by Shannon Bos

When my cousin asked me to take her daughter Rose's grad photographs I was really flattered. Kim was a textile major in art school so she designed and sewed Rose's dress. They also made the hair piece that Rose wore in her hair, and styled and applied the makeup for the session.

I am still really excited about these photographs. It was shot in the mountains on a warm day in July. The weather and the location were awesome, and Rose's hair and makeup were beautiful. I was able to try a few techniques and things that I don't normally get to try, because Rose was adventurous and wanted something different!

Kim was a huge help, and Morgan came along to be our "Light Girl". Morgan is really getting good with off camera flash. I included a few fun outtakes from the session. Morgan comes along to many of my grad sessions.

Thank you Kim & Rose. The photos are some of my favourite, ever.

Grad Season by Shannon Bos

Grad season is fast and furious.  It's one of the busiest times of the year for both Monica and myself.  But, we love our grads.  Each year we get a new group of fresh young faces & we feel inspired.

Here are a few more from Emma's Lethbridge session. Emma is a classic beauty, just like her Mom. Elegant, and timeless.

Congratulations, Emma!

Engagement Session in Waterton Lakes National Park. by Monica Chapman

We know it's springtime...but thought we'd better get one more winter engagement session on the blog before it's all about our springtime sessions! Waterton in one of our favourite places to photograph and it surely didn't disappoint this time. We are so lucky to have such a beautiful park so close to Lethbridge that we can escape to!

Just as Eric and Brianne step into the field, the wind kicked up and sun broke through the clouds, it was beautiful!

Our next stop was the road to Cameron Lake, the trees were heavy with snow and provided the protection from the wind.

Winter Engagement Session in Beauvais Lake Provincial Lake. by Monica Chapman

It was a beautiful winter day in Southern Alberta when we made a road trip out to Beauvais Lake, just outside of Pincher Creek to meet Pamela and Riel. I know I've mentioned it before, but we absolutely love the mountains! Pamela family farm was just a couple miles from the provincial park and it is wonderful when we get to photograph our couples in places that mean something to them.

Loved the custom design of Pamela's engagement ring with its hint of colour.

It doesn't seem to matter what the season is, Aspen trees make magical images.  We were just about to lose the sun behind the mountain in this photograph.

For most of the engagement session the trees protected us from the wind, but this shot tells us we're still in Southern Alberta.

Pamela and Riel dressed perfectly for a winter portrait session, nice coats and scarf for Pamela. (Riel even had a toque he'd throw on between locations) When planning what to wear when the weather is a bit chilly, remember that if you are freezing, it will show in your images. So don't be afraid to throw on a cute toque, add a scarf and wear warm boots!

Fall Mini Sessions at Pavan Park in Lethbridge, Alberta. by Monica Chapman

Since a couple of our families were giving their portraits as Christmas gifts, we had to hold out posting our Fall Mini Sessions. But now that the holidays are over and the cats out of the bag we can post a few! This was our first time doing a mini session day and we loved it!

Tone Family got the early session, it was a crisp Fall morning and fog made the riverbottom look mystical.
