Winter Engagement Session in Beauvais Lake Provincial Lake. / by Monica Chapman

It was a beautiful winter day in Southern Alberta when we made a road trip out to Beauvais Lake, just outside of Pincher Creek to meet Pamela and Riel. I know I've mentioned it before, but we absolutely love the mountains! Pamela family farm was just a couple miles from the provincial park and it is wonderful when we get to photograph our couples in places that mean something to them.

Loved the custom design of Pamela's engagement ring with its hint of colour.

It doesn't seem to matter what the season is, Aspen trees make magical images.  We were just about to lose the sun behind the mountain in this photograph.

For most of the engagement session the trees protected us from the wind, but this shot tells us we're still in Southern Alberta.

Pamela and Riel dressed perfectly for a winter portrait session, nice coats and scarf for Pamela. (Riel even had a toque he'd throw on between locations) When planning what to wear when the weather is a bit chilly, remember that if you are freezing, it will show in your images. So don't be afraid to throw on a cute toque, add a scarf and wear warm boots!
