Winter Wedding Photography Tips

Winter wedding's are beautiful but in Southern Alberta couples need to be prepared for negative temperatures, here are a few tips & tricks to have a successful winter wedding photo session. 

• Schedule your session in early afternoon; as we all know it gets dark early in the winter in southern Alberta , so it's a good idea to plan your outdoor winter photos between 2-4pm

• Dress Warm; it's ok to put leggings on under your dress and wear winter boots. 

• Find a back-up indoor space for photographs; sometimes it's just too cold to photograph outside. Ask your photographer if they have a studio, or if they know of a place you can rent. 

• Bring blankets; they're easy to wrap around your shoulders and quickly remove before the photo. 

• Bring shawls or jackets for your bridesmaids that can be worn in the photos. 

• Photograph in 5-10 minute increments and warm up in your vehicle in-between.
